John H. RISKIND, Ph.D.
E-mail to: jriskind@gmu.edu Dr. Riskind, Professor of Psychology, is an expert in cognitive behavioral therapy and anxiety and mood disorders. Dr. Riskind was a member of the DSM-IV work group on Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and is a current member of the international group of researchers who work on obsessive-compulsive disorders.. He is a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitve Therapy, and editor of the Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy and an associate editor of Cogntive Therapy and Research.. Cognitive behavior therapy is a state of the art and empircally supoorted form of treatment for anxiety, mood and other disorders. His papers have appeared in the Behavior Research and Therapy, Cognitive Therapy and Research, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Journal of Abnormal Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Cognitive Therapy and Research, Archives of General Psychiatry, Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, Journal of Personality, Social Psychology, and others. He is coauthor of a book on Abnormal Psychology (McGraw-Hill) and Cognitive Vulnerability to Emotional Disorders (Lawrence Erlbaum) both with Lauren Alloy.
