George Mason University (GMU) Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to focus on services for veterans in our training clinic, the GMU Center for Psychological Services. This position is a 1-year, full time position, with potential for renewal.
The postdoctoral fellow will gain experience providing critical mental health services for veterans. This is an excellent opportunity for a veteran-focused postdoctoral fellow in need of hours and experience for licensing. This position will entail conducting independent medical evaluations for veterans with PTSD, substance use or other psychiatric disorders, in conjunction and coordination with our various legal partners (including the Virginia Department of Veteran Services). This fellow will also be available to provide evidence-based therapy services for veterans and their dependents. The fellow will complete four comprehensive assessments/independent medical evaluations per month, consult regularly with our legal partners, and see approximately 8 veteran-related therapy clients per week. Two supervisors, one who specializes in veteran testing, and one who has expertise in therapy for veterans, will provide supervision. Other optional opportunities for gaining experience in supervision or specialty areas exist, as does the opportunity to work with Mason’s Military Veterans and Families Initiative.
